Scavenging of stale DNS records is key to a healthy DNS & Active Directory infrastructure, but is something that should be well understood before being enabled. Rather than rehashing a bunch of talking points on the subject, I’ve posted a link to a TechNet blog with one of the best descriptions I’ve found yet. Hopefully the second link is one you will not need, how to restore deleted DNS info.
